CEMS Topical Meeting on Modern Ferroelectrics 2018

CEMS Topical Meeting
Modern Ferroelectrics

October 25-26, 2018
Okochi Hall, RIKEN

A new era is now opening for polar dielectric materials such as ferroelectrics/piezoelectrics and their application, as many innovative researches are emerging on new physics such as multiferroics or relaxers, new materials chemistry based on organic supramolecular polymers or semiconductors, and new device principles such as sift-current effect and its photovoltaic application. Besides, there have been lots of works reported for nano-structured polar dielectric materials/devices in accordance to the progress of the nano-fabrication techniques. In such a circumstance, researches on polar dielectrics are now spreading widely over various scientific fields, such as physics, chemistry, device engineering, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, hybrid materials science, and so on. Therefore, it is necessary to have an outlook over the related fields. This topical meeting aims at comprehensive discussions through exchanging the ideas on such new physics and/or chemistry as well as device applications. We will have 13 invited lectures by leading scientist in this field, and poster sessions for young researchers.
